“He is able to make grace abound to you so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8
If we trust that we do, indeed, have “all that {we} need” in order to fulfill our “good work” then why do we often feel that we are so dramatically short of what we need for it? Why do we feel so often that we are under-supplied with the resources for our many tasks?
Could it be that it is largely because we forget where the promise comes from?
Second Peter 1:3 says, “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness.”
Second Corinthians 9:8 says, “He is able to make all grace abound …”
I see so many of us work so hard to be everything, do everything, succeed at everything and rely on ourselves for everything. We are told by our society and culture that we can handle it all, that we have the power within us to juggle all the pressures that press in on us.
The key is that it is not about us at all.
Opposite the message around us, scripture tells us that our “everything” does not come from us but from the Holy Spirit directly.
When we look to ourselves for provision for the resources we need to be godly wives, mothers, sisters and friends we will find ourselves dramatically short 100% of the time. On the other hand, when we look to the source of the promise in the first place…its not about you at all, its about His divine power and His grace!
How?
* Give it to God …every task and every resource
* Stay connected …in prayer and through scripture
* Train your mind, heart and spirit to recognize when you are not using His power, but your own.
Learning to find your “everything you need” in Him is not natural, especially for women in this day and time. It takes purpose and effort to live a life that is dependent on the power of the Spirit…I pray for you that the desire to do so is on your heart. It is a journey worth taking.
For help along the way ..remember this:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

it is so important that we find everything we need in Him! turning to Him instead of allowing other things to fill the empty wholes in our lives. great post!!
